2 Advanced Digital Marketing Strategies

The first strategy that I’m going to talk to you about today is retargeting your competitors using a traffic source known as PPV. If you’re not familiar with it, PPV is short for pay per view, and how it works is there are companies that put software on users’ computers. An example would be Gamevance. People can go to Gamevance’s website. They can download all these free games, and when they do so, they’re agreeing to allow ads to show up in pop-ups on their computer. It’s all browser based, and it’s permission based marketing.

Now, Gamevance has their traffic division, which is called Trafficvance. What you can do is sign up an account with them, and then you can say, I want to target a specific url. You can put in your competitor’s url, and every time somebody with that software visits that url, a page will pop up, and it’s your page. What you can do is just create a page on your website, and you put retargeting code on that page so that when anybody goes and visits your competitor’s website, that page will pop up, and it’ll cookie that visitor with your retargeting code so then you can go out and serve up retargeting ads around the internet to drive them back to your site.

One really advanced tactic you can use with that is you can offer them a discount off the competitor’s price. If your competitor’s offering a product for $100, you can offer your similar product for 25% off or whatever discount you want to use, and it’s a highly effective strategy that will get people over to your site and actually buy.

Then the second strategy that I’m going to show you today is using a pre-sale page in front of your offer. This is becoming more and more important with a lot of traffic sources, particularly even with Facebook. The common use for selling right now is video sales letters, and people are becoming increasingly more frustrated with those because they don’t like to sit through an entire video before they decide if they want to buy or not, especially if you use a hidden buy button that doesn’t open up until ten or 20 minutes into the video. It’s frustrating a lot of users. What you can do is you can actually create a pre-sale page that goes in front of your video, and you drive your traffic to that page. Now, the pre-sale page is basically an article type page where you’re talking specifically about the problem that your prospect has and how your product can uniquely solve it. It’s more a conversational way. It’s not a hardcore sales pitch at all. Then you give them a link that goes over to the sales letter so that they’re pre-framed and ready for what you’re offering on that page.

If you do it that way, and you don’t have any of the timed buttons on the page, you just have your order button available right away, you’ll actually increase your sales and get a lot more good will with your audience that you’re driving across you funnel. Do both of those advanced strategies, and you will be able to drastically increase your sales online.
